About The Book
Kunya Eka Lekhanitun by Amol Parab is a compelling collection of eighteen Marathi short stories that traverse diverse emotional landscapes. From spine-chilling horror to reflective social commentary, and from the innocent musings of children to complex adult emotions, the anthology captures the depth of human experience with refreshing sensitivity. Stories like Eka WhatsApp chi Gosht, Mi Nahi Bolnar Ja, and Refuge Area beautifully portray the inner world of children, while Nishabd, Andaz, and Guilty Mind dive into the silent emotional battles adults face. Parab’s storytelling stands out for its ability to blend imagination with reality, often challenging readers to look beyond the obvious. The inclusion of song-based stories adds a creative twist, transforming familiar melodies into touching narratives—like Aapki Aankhon Mein Kuch and Zara Zara Mehekta Hai. The anthology doesn’t stick to one tone or genre; instead, it mirrors the unpredictability of life itself—sometimes unsettling, sometimes heartwarming. A civil engineer by profession, Amol Parab’s artistic soul shines through each story, proving that creativity knows no boundaries. Kunya Eka Lekhanitun is a literary experience to be savored slowly, a quiet journey through emotions and thoughts that resonate deeply with readers.
About The Author
I am Amol Avinash Parab, a Civil Engineer based in Mumbai, currently working in a senior position at a multinational company. While my profession lies in engineering, my true passion lies in writing. What began as a deep love for Marathi literature as a reader gradually evolved into my journey as a writer. I started sharing my work on social media, participating in various writing competitions and receiving appreciation that connected me with a community of supportive readers and friends. Their encouragement gave me the courage to publish my first book, Thrill, a collection of Marathi horror stories, which was well received by readers and strengthened my belief in my craft. One of my stories, Refuge Area, was adapted into a short film and earned a nomination at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival—a moment of immense pride. Over time, I have experimented with various genres including horror, romance, family, social issues, poetry, essays, and novellas. Writing, for me, is not just an art—it is a way to connect, express, and reflect. The most fulfilling aspect is when readers resonate with my words and find a part of themselves within my stories. I believe that honesty in writing is paramount, and I strive to offer each reader a meaningful and immersive experience. As I continue this journey, I remain committed to sharing stories that inspire, entertain, and linger in the hearts of those who read them.
