About the Author 

Dr Pramod S. Mahajan is a senior and experienced veterinarian, animal husbandry expert, author, and trainer, who has rendered remarkable service in the field of livestock development and dairy farming for over 39 years. During his career, he has played significant roles in government, cooperative, and national-level institutions.
Dr Mahajan has worked excellently as a veterinarian in renowned cooperative dairy organizations like Sumul Dairy and Amul Dairy, making important contributions in the areas of dairy animal health management, milk production enhancement, disease control, and farmer guidance. Following this, he served for 31 years in the Animal Husbandry Department of the Government of Maharashtra, holding responsible positions such as Livestock Development Officer (Group A) and Assistant Commissioner (Animal Husbandry).
After retirement, he worked as a consultant under the Rastriya Gokul Mission at the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), Anand, providing guidance at the national level for the conservation of indigenous cattle breeds, breeding improvement, and sustainable dairy development.
For the dissemination of knowledge, Dr Mahajan has started a YouTube channel under the name “Dr Pramod S. Mahajan,” through which educational information on animal husbandry, animal disease prevention, dairy farming, and government schemes is provided to livestock farmers, veterinarians, students, and rural youth.
He is also the founder of the “Pashumitra” digital initiative mobile app, which connects livestock farmers with services, training, information, and markets.
