Description
About The Book
Based on the latest 2027 syllabus of Cambridge IGCSE Hindi as a Second Language (0549), this book has been specially designed with a focus on Paper 1: Reading and Writing and the updated curriculum effective from 2027. It has been compiled for students who are learning Hindi as a second language and aspire to achieve TARGET GRADE A* in IGCSE.
The study of Hindi is not limited to words or grammar alone; it is a process of connecting with a rich cultural tradition, worldview, and identity. This book provides students with the essential practice and material needed to understand the depth of the language, express themselves clearly, and write effectively.
The lessons, exercises, and exam-oriented questions in the book have been presented in a manner that is not only useful from the examination perspective but also helps develop genuine interest and understanding of the Hindi language. It will also serve as a valuable teaching resource for educators.
About The Author
“Hindi is not just a language; it is an experience — a medium to think, understand, and express.”
Dear Students and Teachers,
I, Prathamesh Patil, have been associated with international Hindi language teaching for the past decade. I am currently working as an IBDP Hindi B Facilitator at Symbiosis International School, Pune. In this role, I have had the opportunity not only to teach Hindi to students from diverse backgrounds but also to connect them with the sensitivity of the language.
This book has been prepared in accordance with the revised 2027 syllabus of Cambridge IGCSE Hindi as a Second Language (0549). Its purpose is not only to prepare students to achieve Target Grade A*, but also to connect them with the deeper essence of Hindi.
I have tried to ensure that this material does not remain confined to the curriculum alone, but also inspires students to think, reason, and express.
This book is also dedicated to those teachers who, even with limited resources, continuously strive for the promotion and spread of the Hindi language and education. If this compilation deepens a student’s friendship with Hindi or makes a teacher’s work smoother—I will consider myself fortunate.
