About The Book

It is difficult for me to explain these stories of mine. I had always been fond of writing, but I never wrote in a way that could be published anywhere. I would simply write a little something, read it myself, and feel content. In our time, we were not open enough even with our own family members to freely express our thoughts to our parents. Before saying or sharing anything, we had to think repeatedly about what should or should not be said. We belonged to a middle-class family where children were not given much freedom to openly share their inner feelings with elders.
As I grew older, most of my time was spent living with my uncle, managing household responsibilities, and working. Because of this, writing almost came to a halt. Yet, when emotions find their way onto paper, they create a unique identity of their own. I have always been serious and introverted by nature, and therefore, those same emotions will be reflected in both of my stories. There may be some imperfections in the choice of words, but the emotions behind them are sincere and deeply felt.
Although society has changed greatly today, the condition of women in many places still remains much the same as before. Being a woman myself, I have tried to express the emotions and experiences of women through these stories. Often in life, circumstances bind us in such a way that we stop thinking about ourselves altogether. Our happiness, desires, and dreams become imprisoned like objects locked away in a closed storeroom. Every home has such a place—whether a storeroom or some forgotten corner—which is opened only once or twice a year for cleaning. By then, many things kept there have either deteriorated beyond use or are discarded as worthless. In the same way, many of our desires are suppressed over time and eventually lose all meaning and existence.
Every woman carries certain aspirations deep within her heart. Since these emotions rarely come out into the open, no one truly understands them—or even pretends not to understand them—because those feelings belong solely to her. Whether those emotions are fulfilled or not often makes little difference to others. And by the time

About The Author

Preeti Chandra was born on 8 June 1971 in the city of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. She completed her education in Lucknow itself. In 1995, after the death of her mother, she had to come to Delhi to stay with her maternal uncle for treatment of a heart disease. Her uncle lived alone and was also physically disabled in one leg. Therefore, she started living with him. Due to family responsibilities, her past life was full of ups and downs. As a result, she could not continue in the field of writing, and even after completing her B.A., she could not pursue further studies.
A few years later, her father also passed away. She did small jobs, gave tuition classes, and also worked as a helper for differently-abled people, through which she gradually became stronger. She is not a professional writer, but the desire to express her identity always remained within her. Therefore, she started writing at a mature age.
Through the contact of a well-wisher, Mr. Preeti Prajapati, and with his inspiration, she wrote about two cats after the COVID period. It was published by “Manda Publications” in the form of a story titled “Snehil Sambandh” in the book “Shabdon Ki Sihran”. Through this, she realized the talent hidden within herself. She now wishes to continue writing books in the future as well.
Since childhood, she has been emotional and sensitive by nature. She wants to express her feelings through words and wishes to bring the voice of her inner self to society through her writing.
