Travel takes you far from home, but brings you closer to yourself. This, I realized after visiting many places of interest across countries – lighthouses, beaches, hills, gardens, oceans, and forests. The memories imprinted on my mind have stayed on for a long time. Even today, I can recollect the seashells I collected on a forlorn island of the Maldives and the reindeer of Santa Claus I fed in Rovaniemi, the beach of Bentota that I walked barefoot on, and the helicopter ride I took over the Colorado River, fenced by the Grand Canyon. I lost myself, only to discover myself. My travel sojourns have connected me to myself when life had a way of disconnecting me from what mattered. In simple words, when I saw the mountains of Igatpuri or the seagulls of Norway, I discovered what truly counted – the moment in time, which shall be gone away soon and be reserved for a memory on another day.

“People’s Kafe – Whispers from the Lighthouse of Galle: Stories of Friendships & Adventures in Nature” encapsulates these memories of the places I explored, friends I made along the way, and the beauty of nature I enjoyed by the way of living in different places my father was posted at. You will find joyful tales about peacocks who became my pets, the lighthouse I explored in Galle along the Indian Ocean, the salacious mango tree in my backyard, and the people I met on travel who nearly adopted me.

About The Author

Priyanka is an avid observer of life, who has maneuvered several changes in her professional and personal journey. The most recent one being the transition from Corporate HR leader to donning the hat as a Management Consultant advising Fortune 500 organizations on what they can do to get their talent strategy right!

She is the author of the “People’s Kafe” series of books. Her repertoire of books include Amazon Bestsellers – “Stories of Human Emotions, Endeavors & Inclusion”, “A little Slice of life”, “A little book of Epiphany”, “The Secrets Granny Whispered in My Ears” and “In Eternal search of Bluebells”. She has several published articles in leading magazines such as People Matters, Times Ascent, and TheEasyWisdom.com to her credit. She is also a guest speaker at renowned business schools across India. Beyond her corporate identity, Priyanka is an avid traveller, nirvana seeking yogi, and an art aficionado.

She holds a B.Tech degree in electronics and communications and an MBA in human resource management from IMT Ghaziabad. She has had an incredibly rewarding career journey at leading organizations such as Infosys, Aditya Birla Group, Sapient Consulting, and Monsanto Company.
