About the book

The book Chemical Investigation of some Medicinal Plants and their Biological Activities” deals with the isolation of compounds from plants and complete methodology for the identification process of the isolated compounds. Screening of four medicinal plants have been taken into account. From these plants 2 new compounds have been isolated, identified using latest technology like proton NMR, C13 NMR spectroscopy. Other methods of identification of compounds like mass and IR spectroscopy have also been utilized. Chromatographic techniques have been utilized for the isolation and purification of isolated compounds. These compounds have been reported in international journals. In the last chapter, the biological activities of the isolated compound is discussed in detail. The book is very useful for the students working on plant chemistry.

About the author

First author Dr.Laxmi Kant Sharma has a vast experience in the field of higher education. He has worked as Professor in Chemistry in a reputed Engineering college of Jaipur. He has also served as Principal in a reputed post graduated college in Jaipur. Dr.Laxmi Kant Sharma has teaching experience of more than 18 years. He has published 12 research papers in various national and international journal. Second author Dr.Vipin Kumar Singh has been retired as Associate Professor in Chemistry from Government College, Rajgarh, Alwar (Rajasthan). He has teaching experience of more than 20 years and also worked in cement industry for more than 15 years.He has published 10 papers in various national and international journals.
