About The Book

‘On the Edge’, the new anthology of poems by Lalit Mohan Sharma, for a restful pause and an elusive breather, has been divided into four books. His oeuvre continues his lifelong introspective reflections and insights into the minutiae of day-to-day living, the conflicts in life of an individual as also the wider space occupied by his love for his country. Here are metaphorical broodings over what it means to be a sensitive man in today’s world. Strength of his poetry lies in its refusal of sentimentality and melodrama, the diction precise without being ornate. His mastery lies in his ability to fuse the personal with the universal, his verses are not confessional but reflective, probing the nature of existence and the emotional terrain we all traverse.
