About The Author

Dr. Ashok Kumar Upadhyay, presently working as a Librarian and Head, Department of Library and Information Science, Mangalayatan University, Aligarh. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Library and Information Science & Political Science from prestigious Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh. He was also awarded Ph.D Degree in Library and Information Science from AMU, Aligarh.Dr. Upadhyay has nearly 17 years of academic & administrative experience as a library professional in various repute organisations, i.e.,BML Munjal University, Gurugram, GD Goenka University, Gurugram and Galgotias University, Greater Noida. His area of specialisation is Information Technology, Library Management/Administration, Reference Service and Sources and Information Retrieval & Repackaging. He has more than 80 quality research articles in various National and International Journals, Conferences and Edited Books. He has particiapted in various National and International Seminars, Conferences, Workshops and LDP’s and presented number of quality research articles on different aspecets of Library and Information Science. He has also contrubuted his expertise in establishing the various libraries in District Jails of Ghaziabad,Aligarh, Gautam Budh Nagar,Lucknow and Meerut. He has also been a member of editorial team of various reputed journals of high impact factor. Being a life time member of Professional & Social Associations/Organisations like MANLIBNET, ILA, ITALIS, National Association for Blind, Mumbai and Ranganathan Society for Social Welfare and Library Development, Library Association of Bihar, adds another feather to his cap. He has the recipient of Best Practicing University Librarian Award 2023 and Global Eminent Academician Awards 2023. He also visited National Library of Maldives, Male for the academic assignment sponsored by SAARC, Documentation Centre.
