Shruti Se Shodh Tak: Vaidik Adhyayan Ki Pravidhi is a comprehensive textbook written for postgraduate students and research scholars, providing systematic direction in research methodology for the study of Vedic literature. The student who comes to Vedic studies is usually filled with reverence and enthusiasm, but does not know where to begin research. Dispelling precisely this uncertainty is the fundamental purpose of the present work.
Divided into six chapters, the book presents the entire journey of research in orderly sequence. The first chapter discusses the concept of research, its types, the Indian view of pramāṇa, and research ethics. The second focuses on the selection of the research problem, the literature review, source material, and the research proposal. The third introduces textual criticism, manuscriptology, the critical edition, and Vedic accentuation. The fourth explains linguistic, metrical, etymological (nairukta), comparative, and statistical methods of analysis. The fifth gives practical guidance on thesis structure, citation practice, transliteration, and publication, while the sixth acquaints the reader with emerging trends such as digital humanities, computational textual analysis, and artificial intelligence.
The appendices provide a glossary of technical terms, an IAST transliteration table, a model format for a research proposal, and an answer key to the practice questions. About the Author 

Dr. Devendra Singh is Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Sanskrit Language and Literature at Sanchi University of Buddhist–Indic Studies, Madhya Pradesh. He obtained his M.A. from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, and his Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He is the author of several books, and numerous research papers of his have appeared in reputed journals. Under his supervision six scholars have been awarded the Ph.D. degree and two the M.Phil. degree.
His participation in the World Indology Conference (2015), held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, has been a significant milestone in his academic journey. That conference was a historic gathering of eminent Indologists from across the world at the official residence of the President of India. His international engagements include the World Sanskrit Conference at Bangkok and Canberra and the 12th World Hindi Conference in Fiji, where he served as a member of the official delegation of India’s Ministry of External Affairs.
