ABOUT THE BOOK

Human Anatomy and physiology is the basic subject to understand human health care system, such as medicine, pharmacy and nursing etc. The knowledge of components’ of the subject Human Anatomy and physiology is essential to understand the subjects namely Pharmacology, Pharmacotherapeutics, also the subject like Biochemistry and clinical pathology, Hospital and clinical pharmacy, Social pharmacy etc. By studying the HAP the students can able to understands the diseases process, treatments for the diseases and for that it become important to understand anatomy and physiology of different body systems. The study of HAP gives knowledge about different physiological parameters to make understand the concepts of core pharmacy subject. Hence to develop the skills for pharmacy profession the understanding of HAP has to be accurate. This book was framed for imparting the best understanding and providing knowledge to the students. The present book titled ‘Human Anatomy and physiology is designed as per the syllabus for first year D. Pharmacy course prescribed by pharmacy council of India with Education Regulations-2020 (E.R.2020) . Considering the present and future requirements of community, expectation of health care taker and other stakeholders, the curriculum have been reframed making it advanced pharmacy practice oriented approach. The contents of this book include topics with basic terminology, basic structure of cell and tissue, functions of systems of body, relevant information, learning objectives and review questions. The information in the book is presented in precise and in simple manner that will be benefited to the students to understand the subject.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

1st Author- Dr. V. J. Kadam- Principal at Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Pharmacy, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.; affiliated to University of Mumbai. He is also a Director of Bharati Vidyapeeth Educational Complex, Navi Mumbai. He has 34 years’ experience in academics. He has guided 12 M. Pharm. students and 4 Ph.D. scholars. He has co-authored more than 300 research papers in National and International Journals. He has a Life membership of Indian Society for Technical Education, New Delhi; Indian Pharmaceutical Association; Indian Academy of Oral Medicines & Dental Association, Navi Mumbai. 2nd Author- Mr. Umesh N. Mane- Assistant Professor and H.O.D. of Pharmacy Practice Department at Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Pharmacy, C.B.D., Belapur, Navi Mumbai. He has completed his graduation, B. Pharmacy in 1986 from Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Poona College of Pharmacy under Pune University, Maharashtra. He has 36 years’ experience in teaching. He has published three review articles in International Journals. He is life member of ISTE and APTI. He has participated in more than 12 weeks of various Q.I.P. programmes, more than 20 workshops, seminars and conferences. 3rd Author- Mrs. Madhura M. Karale- Assistant Professor at Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Pharmacy, C.B.D., Belapur, Navi Mumbai. She has completed her graduation, B. Pharmacy in 2000 from Government College of Pharmacy Karad, under Shivaji University, Maharashtra. She has completed her post-graduation, M. Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics) in 2016 from YSPM’s Yashoda Technical Campus, Faculty of M. Pharmacy, Wadhe-Satara, under Shivaji University, Maharashtra. She is a Ph.D. scholar. She has 13.5 years’ experience in teaching and 2.5 years’ experience in industry. She has published two research articles and five review articles in National and International Journals. She has filed 1 patent. She has participated in various Q.I.P. programmes, workshops, seminars and conferences, in poster and paper presentation competitions.
