About The Book

I have decided to publish “Babuji’s incomplete diary – a memoir” as a booklet, which has two parts. The ‘first part’ is based on the life of Babuji, i.e. my father, in which I have written ‘five’ chapters. ‘First chapter’ is an exact copy of ‘Babuji’s incomplete diary’, which he himself had written as an autobiography from 1998 to 2005. ‘Second chapter’ – titled ‘Completing the incomplete diary’, I have tried to complete it by writing some more events that happened in my family after his death. In the ‘third chapter’, I have tried to pen down some major events that happened in Babuji’s family, when I started writing this memoir, i.e. till March, 2020. In the ‘fourth chapter’, I have written ‘My relations with Babuji – some of my sweet and sour memories’, from childhood to his last moments. In the ‘fifth chapter’, I have depicted some important events of Babuji’s social life which he had shared with me at one time or another.
In the ‘second part’ of this memoir, I have tried to pay a true tribute to my mother (Babuji’s life partner) by writing down the memories from her childhood till her last moments in ‘seven chapters’.
This memoir is the life story of a person who was truely hardworking, staunchly honest, deeply knowledgeable, selfless & tireless social worker, true educationist and a person who lived a simple and ideal life, which will be a source of inspiration for the coming generations.

About The Author

Engineer Rajendar Singh Dogra, having graduated in Civil Engineering in 1980, retired as Chief Engineer from Bhakra Beas Management Board and finally as Project Controller from L&THHPL in 2015, has built his home in the lap of nature in the foothills of snow-clad Dhauladhar mountain range in Palampur (HP). Along with writing work, he is also working as a ‘Guest Faculty’ at NPTI, Nangal (Punjab). During his service period, he has also obtained a post-graduate degree in MBA (Finance) from IGNOU in 1994. He has also obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in ‘Hydropower and Environment’ from ICH, NORWEY in 2003.
In his professional life of about 34 years, Er. R S Dogra has participated in many national/international seminars/workshops/conferences and has also published and presented many technical papers. He had organized numerous human resource development programs for officers/employees as HRD (Head) in BBMB, Chandigarh. Gave many presentations on the achievements of BBMB before various ministries and parliamentary committees. Also published 2-3 books on BBMB. While working as Head/ BSL Circle I cum Director (Education) in BSL project schools, conducted numerous programs as a motivational speaker for children. Recently, at the age of 70, gained a new experience by giving lectures as a ‘Hydro-Power Expert’ to the young engineers of ‘Damodar Valley Corporation’ at NPTI, Nangal. Er. Dogra loves reading books, writing stories on live and inspiring events, exploring and traveling to new places, and self-driving.
