About The Book

I don’t know how you will feel after reading this book — but this is my first attempt.
If anyone does not like this book, I sincerely apologize — I apologize because I never wish that my words cause pain to anyone’s heart.

Some of my friends told me that I should write something and get it published, so I thought, let’s give it a try and see how it goes. Maybe this could become a means to continue the journey — that’s why I decided to publish this book. Although this was never really my purpose, still… whatever it is.

Speaking about the title of this book — initially, its name was “Meri Pehli Koshish” (My First Attempt). Later, for some reason, I felt like changing it, so I renamed it “Bekhyaali Ki Yaad” (A Memory of Absence) with the subtitle “Bekhyaali” (Absence or Lost in Thought).

About The Author

What should I say about myself? Honestly, I don’t really like talking about myself — I don’t know why, but that’s just how I am.
I didn’t know that while publishing a book, one also needs to provide some information about the author. Apparently, a book cannot be published without knowing something about its writer!

I am a resident of the village Nawada in the Dhanbad district of Jharkhand state. I was born into a middle-class family. My father’s name is Teklal Mahato, and my mother’s name is Sarita Devi. I completed my eighth-grade education at the Utkramit Madhya Vidyalaya, Nawada, a government school in my village. I completed my matriculation from Vanasthali Uchch Vidyalaya, Tilia Rangatand, which is about 8 kilometers away from my village. Later, I pursued my intermediate and graduation studies from Rajganj Inter College and Degree College, located nearly 15 kilometers from my village.

Even after completing all this education, I still feel that I know nothing — and I’m not saying this as a dialogue, but as a simple truth. You might be wondering, how can someone write a book without knowing much or being highly educated? Well, I used to think that to write a book, one must be extremely knowledgeable, well-read, and possess many degrees. But that’s not true at all.

To write a book, all you really need is the ability to read and write — and more importantly, the courage to express your own experiences. If you can write down your experiences honestly, then you too are a writer, because…

> “There is no book greater than experience,
> and no title greater than life itself.”
