About The Book
Chemistry Handbook: A Legend Book for B.Sc. II Semester by Dr. Akhilesh Chandra Verma is a comprehensive and well-structured guide tailored specifically for undergraduate students pursuing their second semester in chemistry. The book systematically covers core topics such as acid-base theories, solvent systems, and HSAB applications in inorganic chemistry, providing both classical and modern perspectives. It delves into the chemistry of carbon-carbon sigma and pi bonding, offering detailed mechanisms and explanations of reactions involving alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, and aromatic hydrocarbons, supported by rules and theories such as Hückel’s rule and Baeyer’s strain theory. The physical chemistry section elaborates on the behavior of gases and liquids, kinetic theory, and the structural chemistry of solids, including crystallography and X-ray diffraction. It also includes an in-depth exploration of colloids, surface chemistry, chemical kinetics, and catalysis—essential for understanding reaction dynamics and industrial applications. With its clear presentation, detailed mechanisms, and student-friendly approach, this book serves as an essential academic resource for B.Sc. students aiming to master fundamental concepts and prepare for exams effectively.
