About The Author
Dr. Gopal Alapure is a renowned academician, researcher, & civil engineering professional with over three decades of impactful experience in both private & government sectors. He began his academic journey with a Diploma in Civil Engineering from Puranmal Lahoti Government Polytechnic, Latur (1988). He later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Cusrow Wadia Institute of Technology, Pune (2007) and a Master’s in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Town and Country Planning from the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) in 2009. Dr. Alapure further expanded his expertise with an MBA in Executive Finance Management from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune, a constituent of Symbiosis International University (2012). Dr. Alapure was awarded his Ph.D. by IIT Kharagpur in 2017 for his pioneering research on the “”Sustainability Assessment Model for Residential Built Forms in the Indian Context.”” His work resulted in the development of the SBModel 2015 V.1.0, a user-friendly software tool for evaluating the sustainability of residential built environments. In recognition of his exceptional contributions, Dr. Alapure was honoured with the Gunvant Abhiyanta Puraskar (Best Engineer Award) by the Pune Municipal Corporation in 2009 for his exemplary performance in the Department of Land Acquisition.
Dr. Alapure has authored six reference books and published more than 20 research papers in esteemed national & international journals and conferences. His groundbreaking work has earned him Best Paper Awards at prestigious forums. His research interests span sustainable built environments, environmental management, urban planning, urban finance, land acquisition, construction management, and risk assessment in construction, real estate and cyber security.
As the Founder President of The Earth Charter, a public trust based in Pune, Dr. Alapure is dedicated to advancing education and allied activities.
Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor, Dean (Admin), and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at Dhole Patil Col-lege of Engineering, Pune, affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University. Dr. Alapure’s expertise and leadership continue to in-spire and shape the next generation of civil engineers.
Dr. Omprakash Rajankar is a seasoned academician with 32+ years of experience in engineering education, research, and administration. Currently he is working as a Principal at Dhole Patil College of Engineering, Pune.
He has held key leadership roles, including Principal, Dean Academics, HOD, and IQAC Coordinator. His expertise spans digital signal processing, image processing, wireless sensor networks, and Al applications in engineering.
His work is recognized by AICTE and Texas Instruments for academia-industry collaboration, he has also received the ISTE Best Paper Award for innovative teaching strategies. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from NMIMS University, Mumbai, and an M.E. in Electronics (Computer Technology) from SRTM University, Nanded.
Dr. Rajankar has published 44+ research papers in SCIE/WoS and Scopus-indexed journals. He authored a book on Basic Elec-tronics Engineering, and contributed to book chapters on signal modelling.
A Life Member of ISTE, he actively promotes technical education. He is also a member of the All-India Council for Technical Skill Development and a Professional Member of IFERP, contributing to global research and academic collaborations.
