About The Book
Doon Ki Aakhiri Chai is a nostalgic coming-of-age story about friendship, love, dreams, and the bittersweet journey of growing up.
Set in the beautiful city of Dehradun, the story follows the author and the people who become an important part of his life during his college years. New friendships, PG life, late-night conversations, unexpected adventures, journeys, heartbreaks, and countless cups of chai turn ordinary days into memories that stay long after those days are gone.
Dehradun is more than just a backdrop to the story. Its streets, hills, changing weather, college corridors, cafés, and quiet evenings become an integral part of the characters’ lives. It is a city where friendships feel eternal, dreams seem limitless, and the future is still waiting to unfold.
But growing up brings change. As the characters move beyond college, relationships evolve, dreams take different directions, and life begins demanding choices they never expected to make. Then comes the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing uncertainty, distance, and a sudden disruption to the lives they once knew.
At its heart, Doon Ki Aakhiri Chai is about the people and places that shape us, and the memories we carry when life takes us somewhere else. It explores friendship, first love, growing apart, finding oneself, and the quiet pain of leaving behind a chapter that can never be lived again.
For anyone who has ever missed their college days, an old friend, a first love, a city, or a younger version of themselves, this book is an invitation to return to those days.
About The Author
Aman Kumar is a storyteller, corporate professional, and lifelong observer of people, places, and the little moments that often become our most cherished memories.
Originally from Prayagraj and having spent a significant chapter of his life in Dehradun, Aman draws inspiration from the experiences, friendships, journeys, and everyday encounters that shape who we become. His years in Dehradun left him with a deep affection for the city—not just for its hills and weather, but for the memories and emotions attached to it.
Aman has always been fascinated by stories hidden within ordinary lives.
Doon Ki Aakhiri Chai is his attempt to capture one such chapter, the carefree years of youth, the warmth of friendship, the innocence of first love, and the inevitable transition into adulthood.
Through his writing, Aman hopes to preserve the emotions of moments that are easy to overlook while living them but impossible to forget once they are gone.
Doon Ki Aakhiri Chai is his debut book, a story born from memories, friendships, and a city that quietly became a part of him. The “aakhiri chai” is not just a final cup of tea; it is that last pause before life moves on and the moment when we know we have to leave, even though a part of us still wants to stay. And perhaps that is what we remember most: not the last sip of chai, but everything we wished could have lasted a little longer.
