ABOUT THE BOOK

Ayurveda, the science of life (Ayu = life; vid = A science) is a part of the ageless Vedic heritage of India. This holistic system, dating back centuries before Christ, boasts a vast body of literature focused on a single, noble goal to preserve good health, which is every human being’s birthright. Ayurveda goes beyond treating illness. Central to Ayurveda is the recommendation of lifestyle modifications, placing a significant emphasis on cultivating a tranquil mind imbued with universal compassion. According to this ancient system, disease is viewed as an accident, akin to how road accidents become rare when one adheres to traffic rules. The essence of Ayurveda lies in guiding individuals to adopt a lifestyle that serves as a safeguard against occasional illnesses, and remarkably, it is a regimen that is not difficult to integrate into one’s daily routine.
The human body possesses an innate and potent immune system capable of rectifying most, if not all, ailments that individuals may encounter. In the unlikely event of this mechanism faltering, only then should medical intervention be considered, to help the system. Immune boosting methods are the mainstay of Ayurvedic therapeutics.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

DR.VIDHI THAKRAL, MS (Ayu), Department of Prasuti Tantra Evum Stree Roga, Parul Institute of Ayurved, Parul University, Vadodara, Gujarat. The author was graduated from Gaur Brahman Ayurvedic College, Rohtak (Haryana). She has many publications to her credit in national and International Journals. She has presented different papers and posters in national and international seminars and appreciated with awards. She also worked on a sponsored clinical research project during her post-graduation study period. Her liking of Ayurveda encouraged her to write this book.

DR. LUMI BHAGAT, M.S (Prasuti Tantra Evam Stree Roga), PhD (Pursuing) Currently working as Associate professor and HOD, Department of Prasuti Tantra Evam Stree Roga, Parul Institute of Ayurved, Parul University, Vadodara. Author has graduated and post graduated from Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Hassan, Karnataka. She has been awarded with ‘Dr. D Veerendra Heggade Pattabhisheka Award -2011’ for 1st rank in Final profession BAMS. She has presented papers at many conferences and also co- chaired a session in International conference ‘Aayushkaameeya -2019’ held at Patanjali Ayurved College, Haridwar. She has been awarded with ‘Prasoothi Visheshajna Puruskar’ by Gujarat Board of Ayurvedic and Unani System of medicine. Published more than 10 articles in the concerned field and the subjects like Daiva-vyapashraya chikitsa in which the author has done extensive study. She has experience of 6yrs in teaching, and prefers to use Vedic counselling as a part of treatment.

DR. MANJUSHA KARKARE, MD (Prasuti Tantra evum Stree Roga) Currently working as Professor and HOD in the department of Prasuti Tantra evum Stree Roga at Parul Institute of Ayurved and Research. She has been in the teaching profession since 1999. She has worked as a principal investigator in two sponsored trials. She has guided several post graduate and PhD students. She has published a number of articles in indexed and peer reviewed journals. She has presented papers in several conferences including Kashyapi held in Jaipur in Feb 2021, where she also chaired a session. She was awarded the “”Prasuti Tantra Visheshajnya”” award by the Gujrat Board of Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Unani. She has imparted training to many international students while working with the The International Academy of Ayurveda and was deputed to Jerusalem to teach at the Broshim campus. She was invited as an online speaker at the international conference in Feb 2021. She has studied yoga at Yoga Vidya, Niketan Mumbai and passed the Teachers training course in 1994. She uses yoga based remedies for patients. Madam is a Reiki grandmaster and has attuned several students in Reiki. She also uses Reiki healing as and when required in patients.

DR. RITA PARIKH, MS Ob gyne, having vast experience in the field of Obstetrics and gynecology. Having number of high risk deliveries and difficult surgeries experience in the 38 yrs of practice. Stood past president and secretary of Baroda Obstetrics and Gynecolgical society. Also has worked in Middle East UAE as a specialist gynecologist.
