About the Book
This story is based on an old tradition, in which prayers are offered for the peace of the soul of the dead person. This tradition has been followed in India and other countries for centuries. After death, garlands are offered to the picture of the deceased and he is remembered by standing in front of it. This practice is deeply rooted in the society and is becoming more prevalent with time.
However, there is a contradiction in this tradition. On the one hand, we pray to God for the peace of the dead soul, but on the other hand, we make his soul restless by remembering him again and again. Especially those people who die suddenly or in an accident, their unfulfilled wishes are not fulfilled, due to which their soul does not get peace.
The story brings forth the message that for the peace of the soul of the dead person, it is more important to send him off with love and respect than remembering him. Keeping his memory alive by adopting the good deeds done by him will be the true tribute.
