About the Book

Miniature paintings are a traditional art form originating from the royal courts of Rajasthan in India. They are typically, intricate depictions of scenes from the everyday lives of the patrons, to Mythological and historical events. Painted on paper cloth and as frescoes, using natural pigments and fine brush strokes to create detailed scenes. These vibrant paintings flourished between 16th and 19th centuries. The Deogarh school of art is renowned for some brilliant and elaborate paintings.
