About The Book
The Village of Wind’ contains 18 short stories, each reflecting on a separate perspective related to love, its various forms and contours. Within this collection, the reader happens upon paramours who, in vain, plead for an afterlife, an alternate reality of lyrical affections, aware of the futility. There are young men who venerate and garland widows and the unfortunate despite the norms of the era, and fellows who ardently desire a different identity so that they can shower passion freely without having to answer to a sceptical society. Then there are those who connect regardless of differences in opinion; and, on the contrary; there are those who fail to communicate at all. Readers may come across fanatics as well as embittered lovers; then encounter the elderly who never fade in their vitality and the sickly who embrace their deficiencies due to an abundance of fondness. There are soldiers who do not return to their significant others as punishment for violence and unwavering followers who can but adore from afar. Additionally, there are narratives of kings, knights, selfless champions of the law and harp-playing nymphs; also of women who wish for motherhood but are only considered substitutes. May the audience walk through a land that is found in its lonesome within the tenderest reaches of the mind, one that shall, hopefully, continue to sink its roots long after the last gust of wind has swept by.
