Description
About The Book
The prostitution is a complex and multifaceted issue, shrouded in stigma, myth, and controversy and one of the most debateable topic in any civilised society. From ancient temples to modern brothels, the sex trade has evolved over centuries, influenced by social, economic, and cultural factors.
The topic on prostitution is a hot and very much debatable. This compilation is just academic into the historical, socio-economic, cultural, and ethical dimensions of prostitution and sex work in India and the global context. The material presented herein is intended solely for educational and research purposes, with the objective of fostering critical understanding and informed discourse on a complex social phenomenon which nobody wish to discuss and talk. This can be said that “The World We Choose Do Not Wish To See.”
All information, statistics, and qualitative accounts cited in this work have been drawn from credible academic, governmental, and non-governmental sources to the greatest extent possible. However, given the informal and often undocumented nature of the sex work industry, the numerical estimates and interpretations presented should be regarded as approximations rather than definitive measures. Variations may exist across regions, time periods, and sources of data.
