About the Book
It is a general view that religion plays a crucial role in society, providing meaning, preserving social order, controlling behaviour, promoting mental and physical health, and motivating social change. Almost all religions are established for the benefit of human beings. However, it is because of the strong religious ego of superiority of their religions that the followers of any religion do not strictly adhere to the doctrines of their religions; they always keep in mind that they belong to one specific religion, which is superior to all other religions. They follow the tenets of their religion in a half-hearted way that gives rise to religious violence and animosity. It is the human behaviour that makes things more complex, resulting in violence and animosity. Religious intolerance occurs when someone or any organisation publicly disapproves of another’s religious practices and beliefs. Religious intolerance, which breeds hostility and violence, is when an individual or group publicly disparages the religious convictions and practices of another. Whenever incidents of intolerance and animosity happen, affected people suffer from the extreme type of trauma known as religious trauma syndrome. It has a profound impact on a person’s emotional, mental, and spiritual health. This creates feelings of anxiety, despair, shame, guilt, terror, fear of numbness, panic attacks, thoughts of suicide, nightmares, identity confusion, and somatization in the minds of affected people. For these reasons, I am extremely disturbed by the animosity and violence that result from religion. Therefore, I put forth one model of “the universal path of humanity” for getting rid of this religious violence and animosity after discussing the background information for understanding the religions, their doctrines, and general information about religions, as well as the positive and negative impacts of religion and irreligion. This book explains the benefits and drawbacks of both religions and irreligions, focusing especially on the horrifying and horrible drawbacks of religions. I bolster this horrifying story with historical examples.
This book aims to provide comprehensive knowledge about ancient and lost civilisations, major religions, and their literature, enabling readers to prepare for competitive employment exams and understand my ideal views on world society.
I hope this book will be useful for understanding ancient civilisations, doctrines, and other information about religions, including their positive and negative impacts on countries and societies, and about my model of the world beyond religions.
