About the Book
Ayurveda, the world’s oldest medical system, emphasizes accurate diagnosis as essential for effective treatment, with Nidan Panchak serving as a cornerstone. This diagnostic method identifies diseases, their causes, prognosis, and contributing factors through five components: Nidan (causes), Purvarupa (prodromal symptoms), Rupa (clinical features), Upashaya (therapeutic methods), and Samprapti (pathogenesis). These elements collectively guide practitioners in understanding diseases and tailoring treatments. The discipline of Rog Nidan evum Vikriti Vigyan further refines this approach by classifying diseases and advancing diagnostic techniques, ensuring early detection and comprehensive care. Nidan Panchak not only aids in pinpointing ailments but also predicts outcomes, reaffirming Ayurveda’s aim of preserving health and curing diseases. Highlighting these diagnostic methods’ significance, this system remains integral to Ayurveda’s holistic approach to healing.
