About the Book
Wings of Expressions – A Pedagogical Handbook for Drama Educators (Grades III–V) is a pioneering handbook designed to empower teachers to bring the art and discipline of theatre into classrooms with structure, clarity, and inspiration. Created by Aryavan Saxena, an accomplished theatre practitioner and educator, the book bridges the gap between performance and pedagogy — transforming drama from a co-curricular activity into a meaningful learning experience.
Structured as a complete grade-wise curriculum, the handbook presents a 30:70 balance between theory and practice — offering session plans, warm-ups, activities, reflection prompts, assessment rubrics, and teacher’s insights. It blends global theatre traditions with India’s rich dramatic heritage, drawing inspiration from the Natyashastra to Stanislavski and beyond.
At its heart, Wings of Expressions is more than a manual; it is a living classroom companion. It encourages educators to nurture imagination, empathy, collaboration, and confidence in young learners through the power of drama. Each activity, each page, reflects a vision — that theatre is not just for the stage, but a vital part of holistic education.
This book marks a transformative step toward recognising drama as both an art and a discipline — a subject that helps children not only perform better on stage, but live more fully, creatively, and expressively in life.

His expertise extends to curriculum design, drama facilitation, and media studies, aiming to make performing arts a core component of modern education.
With Wings of Expressions, Aryavan shares the essence of his practice — uniting art, education, and empathy. He envisions an educational landscape where drama is not treated as an extra, but as an essential tool for nurturing imagination, confidence, and humanity in students.
For him, theatre is not only about teaching children how to act — but how to live, feel, and connect more deeply with the world around them.
