Description
About The Book
The book ‘An Introduction to Real Analysis’ is a text book written in accordance with the syllabus of CC-3, Semester-II (Honours/Major) course following the latest UGC recommended CBCS(Choice Based Credit System) syllabus for all the Indian Universities. The prime objective of this book is to cover the entire portion of Real Analysis included in Semester-II Mathematics Honours/Major syllabus of the undergraduate course of all Indian Universities. This book consists of four major chapters – 1. The Real Number System, 2. Point Set Theory in ℝ, 3. Sequence 4. Infinite Series.
Since the concept of Real Analysis commences from Semester-II, so this book has been written with utmost care and lucidly so as to make this new topic not only easily understandable but also to grow interests among the students for it. Theories are self-explanatory accompanied by sufficient illustrations with alternative proofs and solutions. Moreover examples and MCQs from question papers of different Universities have been solved to enhance the concepts of the students and make them capable of solving any unknown problem with confidence.
I thank my family members for their continuous support and encouragement. I also thank Astitva Prakasan for offering me to write this book.
