About The Author

Damodharan P.G., a seasoned library & information science professional, has devoted over 27 years of his career to nurturing the intellectual and emotional well-being of learners across reputed educational institutions in India. With a foundational degree in B.Sc. Chemistry, his academic pursuits transitioned into the domain of Library Science, where he earned his MLISc, M.Phil, MA (English), & PGDLAN. His broad academic canvas reflects a commitment to knowledge service and interdisciplinary learning. His interest in healing and personal growth led him to explore alternative therapies, completing certifications in acupuncture and allied medical sciences. This path ultimately intersected with his library work when he discovered bibliotherapy-the therapeutic use of books for healing the mind and soul. Passionate about the emotional and psychological power of literature, Damodharan began designing reading programs & story-based interventions for students and staff alike. He has authored & published over six scholarly articles in national & international journals on bibliotherapy’s impact in educational and community settings.

Dr. Elagandula Ramesh, a fellow enthusiast and scholar, Damodharan pioneered bibliotherapy practices at his insti-tution, blending classical literature, Indian scriptures, and modern psychology. Together, they played a crucial role in aligning their library with the National Digital Library of India (NDLI), & their efforts were nationally recognized with an award from IIT Kharagpur. Today, Damodharan advocates for reading as a form of self-reflection, emotional balance, and holistic healing, conducting workshops & writing extensively on the integration of traditional wisdom with modern bibliotherapeutic models.
