About the Book
Western scientists & philosophers are, till date, still struggling to develop a science of consciousness or, to be more appropriate, if not, precise, a science of the mind.
While scientists have used the words “”consciousness”” and “”mind”” extensively sometimes even considered the two as synonymous, they have, till date, not been able to provide a clear, scientific definition of these terms for various reasons, the foremost being that they have yet not fully understood their significance and utility. Often times, the definition given to these terms is not only incomplete but also unsatisfactory, being mere descrip- tion of the functioning aspects with little regard to details about what they really mean.
So, is there a difference between mind & consciousness or are these terms really interchangeable? Is brain distinct from the mind or is consciousness nothing but the brain? Or do these three terms brain, mind & consciousness – mean the same thing? Or is there simply a lot of confusion?
