And why do women still have to struggle for their safety, respect, and identity in today’s modern India?
This book not only raises these questions but also attempts to understand the thinking behind them.
But this book is not just the story of women’s struggles.
The subsequent chapters also highlight the people and institutions who supported women: fathers, mothers, husbands, brothers, sisters, family, teachers, and society. It also provides examples of successful Indian women who, when given the opportunity, created history through their hard work.

About the Author 

Kannan Dhanarajan is not just a writer, but a sensitive human being who has observed life’s struggles closely and transformed them into words. He was born in Kharagpur, West Bengal, and spent nearly four decades there. Today, he lives in Sambalpur, Odisha, pursuing his writing and social thinking.
He has learned life not just from books, but from the ground and real-life situations. Working in diverse settings, he has closely observed the lives of the poor, laborers, small businessmen, families, women, and the needy. This experience is the greatest strength of his writing.
He believes that a writer’s pen should not only be used to write words, but to awaken thought and compassion in society.
His writing focuses on humanity, women’s dignity, struggle, self-respect, social responsibility, and the lives of ordinary people.
But for Kannan Dhanarajan, books are not merely objects to be read. He also considers his books a medium of service.
He has dedicated 95% of the royalties from his book, “Shri Shri Solapuri Mata Ki Gaurav Gatha,” to the community and temple where he spent nearly 40 years of his life.
90% of the royalties from his book, “Humanity Sabsa Bada Dharma,” have been dedicated to serving the poor and old-age homes.
Similarly, 90% of the royalties from his book, “Nari,” have been dedicated to serving society and needy women. 50% of this amount has been dedicated to serving the poor and needy women, and 40% to serving the poor working-class women and old-age homes of Sambalpur.
For him, royalties are not just income from the book, but a helping hand to someone in need.
Kannan Dhanarajan believes that “we come empty-handed and go empty-handed, but if we leave a little light in someone’s life before we leave, that is the greatest earning of life.” His books not only raise questions for society, but also inspire reflection, understanding, and action.
His life journey from the soil of Kharagpur to Sambalpur has given him a deep conviction: “A person’s true identity is determined not by their wealth or position, but by their actions.”
Today, his pen is writing the dream of an India where daughters have opportunities, women receive respect, the poor receive support, the elderly receive a sense of belonging, and every person strives to make society a little better through their actions.
His pen is committed to: “As long as my pen continues to move, my words will strive to impact not just paper, but the hearts and minds of people and society.”

उनकी पुस्तक श्री श्री सोलापुरी माता की गौरव गाथा की 95% रॉयल्टी उन्होंने उस बस्ती और मंदिर के लिए समर्पित की है, जहाँ उनके जीवन के लगभग 40 वर्ष बीते।
उनकी पुस्तक मानवता सबसे बड़ा धर्म की 90% रॉयल्टी गरीब लोगों और वृद्धाश्रम की सेवा के लिए समर्पित है।
इसी तरह उनकी पुस्तक “नारी” की 90% रॉयल्टी समाज और जरूरतमंद महिलाओं की सेवा के लिए समर्पित की गई है। इसमें 50% हिस्सा गरीब और जरूरतमंद महिलाओं के लिए तथा 40% हिस्सा संबलपुर के गरीब मजदूर वर्ग की महिलाओं और वृद्धाश्रम की सेवा के लिए समर्पित किया गया है।
उनके लिए रॉयल्टी केवल पुस्तक से होने वाली आय नहीं, बल्कि किसी जरूरतमंद तक पहुँचने वाली मदद है।

हम खाली हाथ आते हैं और खाली हाथ जाते हैं, लेकिन जाने से पहले अगर किसी के जीवन में थोड़ी-सी रोशनी छोड़ जाएँ, तो यही जीवन की सबसे बड़ी कमाई है।”

खड़गपुर की मिट्टी से संबलपुर तक की उनकी जीवन-यात्रा ने उन्हें एक गहरा विश्वास दिया है
