ABOUT THE BOOK

This book, titled “PSC Crystals: Fizzing with Hypolipidemic Potential” is the culmination of an extensive study aimed at modifying Panchasakar Churna (PSC) into optimized Effervescent Granules, also further testing Analytical and Comparative In Vitro Hypolipidemic Study of both.
Hyperlipidemia, a prevalent lifestyle disorder in today’s era, can lead to severe complications like Coronary Heart Disease, High Blood Pressure, Obesity, Diabetes, etc., if left untreated. The medications commonly used to manage this condition often have complications like arthralgia, hepatotoxicity, and muscle-related intolerance. This study offers significant insights into the use of PSC and its Effervescence as a lipid-lowering agent, supporting its Yakrutapitta Uttjaka Guna.
The book is structured into several chapters, each supported by textual references. It begins with an introduction outlining the background, rationale, and hypothesis of the study. The study’s aims and objectives are clearly stated. The methodology is divided into three sections: a conceptual study, a pharmaceutical study, and an analytical study. Each section is detailed with references, and the findings are recorded. For Eff. Granules, nine batches of granules were formulated and examined. The study strategically modified the formulation to pinpoint the ideal mix of excipients and their appropriate amounts that would yield granules with satisfactory analytical parameters.
This book is intended to serve as a valuable resource for researchers, clinicians, Faculties and students in the field of Ayurveda and pharmaceutics. It is our hope that the findings and discussions presented in this book will inspire further research and development in the new drug dosage forms from classical Ayurveda formulations.
