Dr Aaditya Avinash Karve, M.S. General Surgery (AYU)

Dr Aaditya Karve, M.S. (General Surgery) (Ayu.), combines Ayurveda and modern sterilization and fumigation practices in his upcoming book, “”Sterilization: Ayurvedic Perspectives and Historical Trajectories.”” Graduating with distinction from Gomantak Ayurveda College and Parul Institute of Ayurveda, he excelled in Shalya Tantra. With expertise in abdominal and anorectal surgeries, his holistic healthcare approach integrates Ayurvedic principles. During his five-year tenure as an Emergency and Surgical Ward Medical Officer, Dr Karve demonstrated precision in managing diverse medical scenarios. Beyond surgery, his proficiency in yoga aligns with Ayurvedic well-being principles, emphasizing balance in physical and mental health. As a prolific researcher, he contributed to esteemed journals and won the first prize for a national-level paper presentation on Cancer Care in Ayurveda. Dr Karve’s book, as the first author, promises to be a valuable resource bridging ancient and contemporary perspectives for Ayurveda and surgery enthusiasts.

Dr Parikshit Shirode, M.S. in Shalya Tantra (General Surgery)

He is an eminent surgeon from Ayurveda fraternity, completed his graduation as BAMS with flying colours followed by M.S. in Shalya Tantra (General Surgery) from V. A. M. V., Amaravati, Maharashtra holding 2nd position at university level. He has profound clinical experience of 19 years. He has managed various difficult cases using his expertise in para-surgical, surgical skills as well as with conventional Ayurvedic medicine. Almost 1800+ cases are operated successfully by him till date. He has 14 years of UG Teaching experience, and 5 years of PG teaching. He started his academic carrier as lecturer in Shalya Tantra at Shree Saptashrungi Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya and hospital, Nashik, Maharashtra, and continued there as an associate professor. Since December 2018, he is working at parul Institute of Ayurved, Vadodara, Gujarat as Professor at department of shalya tantra. Till now 15 PG Scholars have submitted their dissertations successfully under his keen guidance, and at present 6 Pg Scholars are doing their dissertations works under his guidance. He has also awarded with prestigious awards like Sushruta award by Gujarat board of Ayurveda and Unani system of medicine, Vikram Sarabhai Innovation Award by the hands of Honorable president of NCISM, Dr B. S. Prasad and Piyush Mahodadhi Award by NIMA Surgical Society. He has published 20+ articles in renowned international journals. Articles authorized by him are also published in proceeding of various national and international webinars and seminars. He also contributed his expertise through writing the chapters in books published by international publishers. His innovative idea has received Device Design patent by the Patent Authority of India.
