About the Author 

Dr. Pramod S. Mahajan is a senior and experienced veterinarian, animal husbandry expert, author, and trainer. He has provided distinguished service to livestock development and dairy farming for over 39 years. During his career, he has played important roles in government, cooperative, and national-level organizations.

Dr. Mahajan performed outstanding work as a veterinarian at prestigious cooperative dairy organizations such as Sumul Dairy and Amul Dairy. He has made significant contributions to the health management of dairy animals, increasing milk production, disease control, and guiding farmers. Subsequently, he served in the Animal Husbandry Department of the Maharashtra Government for 31 years, holding responsible positions such as Livestock Development Officer (Group A) and Assistant Commissioner (Animal Husbandry).

After retirement, he served as a consultant under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission at the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), Anand, where he provided national-level guidance on indigenous cattle conservation, breeding improvement, and sustainable dairy development.

To disseminate knowledge, Dr. Mahajan has launched a YouTube channel, “”Dr. Pramod S. Mahajan,”” through which educational information related to animal husbandry, animal disease prevention, dairy business, and government schemes is provided to livestock farmers, veterinarians, students, and rural youth.

He is also the founder of the “”Pashumitra”” digital initiative mobile app, which connects livestock farmers to services, training, information, and markets.
