About the Book
An Average Engineer is a collection of short stories by the author, inspired by real-life experiences and aimed at resonating with millions of engineering graduates across India. Each year, approximately 1.5 million engineers graduate in India, yet only a select few from prestigious institutions like the IITs, NITs, and other top-tier colleges are regarded as the crème de la crème. Most graduates are often categorized as “”average engineers,”” facing the harsh reality of being perceived as less employable due to a lack of specialized skills or industry readiness. This has created a challenging landscape where many struggle to find their footing in the competitive job market.
Through this book, the author seeks to bridge the gap between these so-called “”average engineers”” and the successful professionals they aspire to become. The stories offer practical advice and guidance on acquiring the skills necessary to not only survive but thrive in today’s demanding professional environment. The central theme revolves around a crucial question: How can one achieve success and build a rewarding career without graduating from a top engineering institution?
Drawing from his own experiences as a successful professional abroad, seasoned investor, motivational speaker, and writer, the author shares valuable lessons on overcoming obstacles, building resilience, and succeeding in life and the corporate world. Through relatable anecdotes and real-world examples, An Average Engineer aims to inspire and empower readers to redefine their paths to success.
