About The Book

Assessment Methods Manual for Ayurveda Teachers is a comprehensive guide developed to support Ayurveda educators in implementing effective, competency-based assessment methods as per NCISM (National Commission for Indian System of Medicine) guidelines.
Designed specifically for undergraduate and postgraduate Ayurveda programs, the manual offers a structured overview of both theory and practical assessment techniques, such as OSCE, OSPE, DOPS, DOAP, Mini-CEX, MEQs, and more. It bridges the gap between traditional Ayurveda pedagogy and modern educational principles by providing ready-to-use templates, rubrics, checklists, and blueprints tailored to Ayurvedic subjects.
With dedicated chapters on formative and summative assessments, digital evaluation, portfolio-based learning, and competency mapping, the manual empowers teachers to assess not just knowledge, but also skills, communication, and professional behaviour.
Rich with Ayurveda-specific examples, clinical scenarios, and classical references, this book is an essential resource for curriculum planners, academic administrators, and faculty members committed to elevating the quality of Ayurveda education through structured, transparent, and student-centered assessment.
