ABOUT THE BOOK

I am a government school teacher by profession. In 2020, a pandemic shook the entire world, casting doubt on the existence of humanity. Death loomed, testing our resilience. After such trying times, as life gradually returned to normal in 2022, our honorable Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, announced the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a festival of freedom across the nation. People, despite their past sorrows, rallied to prepare for this celebration. During these times, as we commemorated the martyrs like Bhagat Singh and Khudiram, I was reminded of the sacrifices made for our freedom. This celebration of freedom, like the nectar obtained after the churning of the ocean, came after paying several prices. Just as the nectar could only be obtained after consuming the poison, our freedom, too, was achieved after many sacrifices. We must remember the sacrifices of our martyrs as we celebrate this Amrit Mahotsav. However, it is crucial to reflect on whether, in the past 75 years of our freedom, we have done anything in return that can truly honor their sacrifice.
