In these four chapters on Indian nature, tendencies, and temperament, this book contemplates several questions: ‘Philosophy’—the perspective on life; ‘Spirituality’—the goal of life and the recognition of my true existence; ‘Dharma’—the style of living through the theory of karma – the law of cause and effect; and ‘Sect’—the freedom to choose one’s favored deities, major sects, and the practices of worship and prayer.
Is it not necessary to re-immerse ourselves—individually and collectively—in a fresh way, bringing our ancient Sanatan thoughts back into our lives based on the foundational scriptures (Prastanatraya – Upanishad, Geeta and Brahmsutra)? This book is one such endeavor.

About The Author 

Birendra Kumar Jha, born on 5 April 1941 in Ranti, Panchkoshi, near Janakpur, in the Mithila region of Darbhanga, Bihar, is a distinguished engineer and accomplished professional with an inspiring career in India’s steel industry. His mother, Mrs. Bhagirathi Jha, was a devoted follower of Lord Shiva, while his father, Mr. Jagdish Jha, was a Gandhian whose values shaped his outlook on life.
After completing his B.Sc. in Metallurgical Engineering in 1962, Jha joined Hindustan Steel Limited, Government of India, as a Graduate Engineer. Between 1962 and 1975, he served at Bhilai Steel Plant in various technical and managerial capacities. Subsequently, from 1975 to 1999, he contributed significantly to Bokaro Steel Plant, working across production, marketing, finishing, and modernization projects. His professional journey also took him to the USSR, France, the UK, Germany, and Brazil, providing valuable international exposure. He retired as Deputy General Manager (Modernization).
Beyond his professional achievements, Jha has a deep passion for reading, writing, and listening to music. An intellectual, analytical, spiritual, generous, and introspective individual, he is known for his dedication, discipline, and hard work. His life reflects a remarkable blend of professional excellence, strong values, and intellectual curiosity.
