ABOUT THE BOOK

The vibrant lyrical bouquet LIFE IN CRAYONS is based on the reflections of young poet Naina Grewal. This poetic anthology is set in the lush hills of Sanawar, where gentle spirits and natural forces serve as teachers while forests and ancient trees with bubbling springs serve as classrooms. The author highlights the complex and thought-provoking teachings that birds and other peaceful natural phenomena can provide. Through her poems, the author takes the readers on a peaceful and transformative journey. With her poetry, the author hopes to reassail readers’ connection to the natural world in an era consumed by high-tech devices and cell phones.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Naina Grewal, a student at the prestigious Lawrence School Sanawar belongs to an armed forces background of three generations. The author has been raised in lap of nature both due to remote postings of her father and later in a boarding school in the picturesque hills of Sanawar. As a very young child she saw her mother’s brave battle with cancer and she turned to nature for solace and strength. She emerged stronger as she keenly observed the brave birds and small animals facing forces of nature. She understood what love is capable of achieving while she watched birds caring for young and then daring them to fly. She saw symphony in streams and rivers. She saw symbiotic existence in nature and how nature assists life and growth. A national level age group swimmer, a participant at The World School Debates and an international exchange student, Naina credits it all to her teachers and blessings of nature.
