About the book

The present book “MATRICES AND DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS” has been written to develop foundation knowledge for the readers to understand basics of matrices and differential equations. The subject matter has been discussed in such a simple and systematic way that the readers will find no difficulty to understand it.
The present book is divided into fourteen chapters (Chapter-1 Matrix Algebra; Chapter-2 Determinant and Inverse of a Square Matrix; Chapter-3 Some Special Matrices; Chapter-4 Elementary Operations and Rank of a Matrix; Chapter-5 Linear Dependence and Independence of Vectors; Chapter-6 Solution of System of Linear Equations; Chapter-7 Eigen Values and Eigen Vectors of a Matrix; Chapter-8 Algebraic and Geometric Multiplicities of an Eigen Value of a Square Matrix; Chapter-9 Cayley-Hamilton Theorem; Chapter-10 Diagonalization of a Matrix; Chapter-11 Introduction of Differential Equations; Chapter-12 Differential Equation of First Order and First Degree; Chapter-13 Differential Equation of First Order and Not of First Degree; Chapter-14 Orthogonal Trajectories) and in the end of each chapter a set of unsolved problems as an exercise to the students has been incorporated. This book also contains 200 multiple choice questions. We hope that this book will meet the requirement and the expectations of the readers.

About the Author

Dr. Sudhanshu Aggarwal has received his Ph.D. degree from C.C.S. University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh in 2019. He has also qualified CSIR NET examination (June-2010, June-2012, June-2013, June-2014 and June-2015) in Mathematical Sciences. He is working as an Assistant Professor in National Post Graduate College Barhalganj, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. He is equipped with an extraordinary caliber and appreciable academic potency. His fields of interest include Integral Transform Methods, Differential and Partial Differential Equations, Integral Equations, Vibration of Plates, Theory of Elasticity and Number Theory. He has published 115 research papers in national and international journals.

Dr. Shahida A.T. is currently working an Assistant professor, in the Research Department of Mathematics in MES Mampad College (Autonomous), Kerala, India. She is also a research supervisor specialized in the area of Graph Theory. She did her Ph.D. in Graph Theory from NIT Calicut. She has 12 research publications in various international reputed journals including Elsevier and Springer published journals. She has presented more than 15 research articles in various international/national conferences/seminars. She has attended more than 55 conferences/webinars/workshops/faculty development programs all over India and abroad. She is a life member in the bodies; Academy of Discrete mathematics, Indian Mathematical Society, also an editorial board member in ‘International journal of Mathematics and System sciences’ (Empress publisher-USA). She is also a membership in FLAIR and a certified trainer and Auditor of Environment Management System.
