ABOUT THE BOOK

The present book “Algebra” is presented for undergraduate students studying in the field of Science and Engineering. This book provides theoretical background of the subject with well graded set of detailed solved examples. Each chapter consists of unsolved problems in the form of exercise. For better understanding of the subject, a large number of objective type questions are also given at the end of this book.
The present book is divided into seven chapters (Chapter-1 Basic Properties of Integers; Chapter-2 Groups; Chapter-3 Cyclic Groups; Chapter-4 Permutation Groups; Chapter-5 Subgroups; Chapter-6 Homomorphism and Isomorphism of Groups, Cayley’s Theorem; Chapter-7 Normal Subgroups).
