Description
About The Book
Every year, one million aspirants sit for the Civil Services Examination. Fewer than one in a thousand make it through. Not because they are not intelligent. Not because they do not work hard.
Because nobody taught them the one thing that matters most.
The HCF- the Highest Common Factor of all UPSC success.
Not a subject. Not a strategy. Not available in any coaching institute in India.
It is the trained, activated, reasoning human mind the one foundation without which every book read, every note made and every mock test taken produces a fraction of what it could.
Beyond The Syllabus is the book that teaches the HCF.
Written by an IIT Roorkee alumnus with 36 years of nation-building experience featured across national media, validated by decades of quiet mentoring – this is not another guide to what to study. It is the complete manual for how to think, how to prepare and how to win.
Inside you will find the complete strategy for Prelims, Mains and the Interview. The neuroscience of deep learning and focused attention. The psychology of long-haul preparation. The habit architecture of consistent performers. The inner game that most aspirants never learn to play.
And woven through every page the ancient wisdom of a village mystic, the discipline of an IIT education and the hard-earned clarity of a lifetime spent building things that last.
This book does not teach you the syllabus.
It teaches you the mind that masters it.
About The Author
Brijesh Srivastava is an IIT Roorkee alumnus with B.E. and M.E. degrees in Civil Engineering. He retired as General Manager from RITES Ltd. – a premier Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Railways -after a distinguished career spanning 36 years in railway infrastructure, metro systems, bridges, viaducts and large-scale civil engineering projects across India. Born in Basti district, Uttar Pradesh, he carries a rare combination the analytical precision of an IIT education, the practical wisdom of 36 years of nation-building, and a lifelong independent immersion in psychology, neuroscience and the science of human cognitive performance. His understanding of the mind began not in a classroom but in a village, under the guidance of a mystic whose ancient concentration technique he would later recognise as the focused attention training that modern neuroscience identifies as among the most powerful cognitive tools available.
