About The Book
In the contemporary world, sex education has become an important as well as sensitive subject. Many educationists and specialists hold that children should receive scientific and balanced sex education at the proper age so that they may be saved from confusion, inhibition, and misinformation. The film OMG 2 presents this issue in an engaging, lucid, and rational manner. One of its central arguments is that sex education is not a purely Western concept; rather, Indian tradition too offers ample and scientific foundations for it. To substantiate this view, the film cites numerous references from Sanskrit scriptures, literature, and ancient Indian culture. Because of the demands of narrative progression, these references are presented there only in brief. Yet they effectively reveal the openness of our ancient culture and its strikingly modern outlook. This, quite naturally, arouses curiosity about the ancient and rich tradition of Kāmaśāstra in Sanskrit literature. The present book offers a detailed and integrated discussion of all those references mentioned in the film, interpreting them through both classical textual and modern scientific perspectives.
