About the book

The book is divided into 10 chapters, in a logical sequence and it strikes a reasonable balance between water and chemistry, which are of theoretical and practical use to practising students, chemists and engineers. This book has been designed for students of chemistry, engineering, environment science and various competition examinations etc. This book will be of immense help to the students as it consists of some chapters on the syllabuses of various universities. I hope this book (especially chapter 9) will also be useful to all involved in thermal power plant. It will also serve as a model manual on water assessment for all concerned in the field. Study questions are added after each chapter and 101 objective questions with answers are enlisted at the end of chapter. About the author

Dr. Arun Kumar Pramanik is working in the Chemistry Department of Damodar Valley Corporation. His main research interest centres on organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry and water chemistry. He is also interested about synthesis of organic compound and inorganic compound. He has published several research works in chemistry in ‘Tetrahedron Letter’ (Hantzsch 1,4- dihydropyridine synthesis in aqueous ethanol by visible light), ‘Analytical Chemistry letters’, ‘Journal of Applied Pharmaceutical Science’, Applied Water Science, Water Science, ‘International Journal of Environmental Science and Technology’, ‘International Journal of Environmental Analytical Chemistry’ and others journals.
